Great success for the launch event of the European project AI-MATTERS: artificial intelligence at the service of advanced manufacturing
The presentation event of the European project AI-MATTERS (AI MAnufacturing innovaTion for European ReSilience), held on March 15, 2025 at MADE Competence Center Industry 4.0 in Milan, was well attended and interesting.
The initiative officially marked the start of an ambitious project funded by the Horizon Europe program, which aims to integrate artificial intelligence into manufacturing industry production processes, promoting a more resilient, digital and sustainable Europe.
During the event, experts, researchers, companies and industry stakeholders had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to AI adoption in industry. The AI-MATTERS project involves 29 partners from 10 European countries, including research centers, universities, SMEs and large industries, with the common goal of developing concrete, reliable and easily integrated AI solutions in production systems.
Opening the proceedings was Marco Taisch, president of MADE Competence Center, who stressed the strategic importance of the project for strengthening the competitiveness of the European industrial fabric. This was followed by speeches from representatives of the European Commission, project coordinators and pilot companies involved in the use cases, who illustrated how artificial intelligence can improve efficiency, sustainability and flexibility in production processes.
Particular attention has been paid to the key objectives of AI-MATTERS: the creation of an integrated AI-manufacturing ecosystem, the promotion of shared standards, and the realization of 12 industrial demonstration cases deployedin different sectors, including automotive, aerospace, electronics and agribusiness.
The event confirmed the growing interest in the adoption of AI in manufacturing and kicked off a three-year journey of collaboration, innovation and technology transfer on a European scale.
